"Hot Garbage" is the twenty-sixth episode of Season 2 of Teen Titans Go! and the seventy-eighth episode overall. It first aired on 15 January 2015 on Cartoon Network.
Logline[]
When the Titans try to get Beast Boy to clean his dirty room, they discover that there's more to garbage than just trash.[1]
Synopsis[]
Beast Boy's dirty smell kills the Teen Titans.
Beast Boy walks out of his room, followed by a green cloud of stench. He greets the rest of the Teen Titans in the living room, but they all complain about the stink. Beast Boy claims that he can't smell anything, but Cyborg points out that he can cut through the cloud and demonstrates. Robin orders the Titans to fight off the smell, but they are overwhelmed by the stink and die. Beast Boy looks at their bodies and claims to not smell anything. As the ghosts of the Titans heads into the sky, Cyborg and Starfire celebrate that they can breathe fresh air again, but Robin refuses to die by an odor and tells the Titans that they'll have to return to their bodies. Raven asks if they really have to, and Robin floats down to the bodies and hits them, restoring his teammates back to life before he enters his body. Beast Boy, upon noticing the revived Titans, says that he thought the Titans were dead permanently this time. Starfire questions why Beast Boy is unaffected by the smell, and Robin notices that the smell is coming from his room.
The Titans walk into Beast Boy's room which is covered in garbage and filth. Robin calls his room a pig stein and Beast Boy points out actual pigs, much to Starfire's joy as she pulls on one of their tails. Beast Boy claims that while his room looks messy, he knows where everything is and points out possums, a mold collection, and an adult hobo named Sticky Joe who greets the Titans. Robin calls Beast Boy's living conditions unacceptable and Starfire questions why he does not throw away the garbage. Beast Boy protests that every dirt, stain, and sticky lump has some sort of significance to him. Cyborg tells Beast Boy that he needs help, and Beast Boy agrees, but claims that no one ever taught him how to clean. Robin decides that while he, Starfire, and Cyborg clean up the mess, Raven will teach him to clean. Beast Boy agrees to give it a try, but asks that they don't throw away his scab collection. Starfire takes the collection and agrees, but as soon as he and Raven leave the room, she places it in a garbage bag.
Beast Boy is unable to learn how to throw away garbage.
The first lesson is deciding what to throw away. Raven shows Beast Boy a banana peel and a trash can in the kitchen and asks him what does he do. Beast Boy calls the exercise simple and throws away the banana peel. However, he chastises himself for throwing away a perfectly good banana peel and knocks over the trash can to look for it. He places it on his head and turns a greasy napkin into a bow tie before commenting on all the good stuff that was thrown away and begins digging through it. Meanwhile, Cyborg attempts to get rid of the possums but they chase him off. Starfire holds Silkie as he begins to vacuum up the garbage, but becomes disgusted by it. The second lesson is throwing stuff away. Raven conjures up a diamond, spoiled fruit, and a dirty sock and asks Beast Boy to choose one item. Beast Boy replies that the decision is easy, but finds himself unable to decide.
Beast Boy was influenced by the Grouch to always love his garbage.
In Beast Boy's room, Robin is battling Sticky Joe in an attempt to get him to leave and knocks over his can of beans. Sticky Joe grabs the can, hisses at Robin, and scurries off. Back in the kitchen, Beast Boy is attracting trash like a magnet and Raven asks where he learned it was okay to hoard garbage. Beast Boy responds that it was from his hero, a television character who lived in a trash can named Grouch. Beast Boy realizes that he loves his mess and heads to his room where he demands that the Titans stop throwing away his stuff. He tells them that he loves his garbage and it loves him back, and that he'll never clean it up. Robin threatens Beast Boy to either clean up the mess voluntarily or be forced to do so. Beast Boy reminds Robin that they're in his room and jumps into a lump of dirt before covering it with underwear. Starfire removes the underwear only to see that Beast Boy had disappeared. Robin enters the lump and advises the Titans to follow him.

The Titans exit the lump and find themselves on a mountain of garbage surrounded by valleys of trash. Starfire asks how they'll find Beast Boy, and Robin responds that they'll track his scent and begins sniffing only to gag on the stink of trash. Raven complains that all she smells is butt and fish, and Robin yells at her to smell harder. He dives into a pile of trash and begins sniffing for Beast Boy when Raven informs Starfire and Cyborg that she's found footsteps. They begin to follow them as Robin continues to smell the lump. Their search leads them to a body of green water which Robin and Cyborg wade through while Raven and Starfire float over them. They complain about the stuffiness when it begins to rain. The Titans begin to celebrate only for Robin to question how it could be raining in Beast Boy's room. Cyborg notices that they're underneath Beast Boy's pile of sweaty t-shirts meaning that the rain is actually sweat. Raven summons an umbrella and Starfire and Robin cling on to her. Cyborg pleads to be let underneath that umbrella, but Raven protests as there's not enough room. He jumps onto Raven, causing the four of them to land in the green water.

The Titans wash up on a shore and Robin suggests that they clean the room themselves in order to find Beast Boy when he notices a figure scurrying behind him. The figure reveals himself as Beast Boy as Raven and Cyborg tell Beast Boy that he's lost it. Beast Boy calls them the crazy ones for not being able to see the beauty in the garbage. He offers to take them on a magic carpet ride to show them his world, but Starfire questions where he got the magic carpet. Beast Boy reminds her that he has everything in his room and the Titans want to throw it all away. Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven realize that Beast Boy is right about garbage after the magic carpet ride, but Robin calls it all garbage and begins picking up trash to throw it away. He picks up an apple core, causing the foundation to shake. Beast Boy informs Robin that the apple core was a structural support and that he'll need possums, socks, and Sticky Joe to fix it. Robin tells Beast Boy that he threw all that stuff away and Beast Boy questions why he would throw away perfectly good garbage.
The Teen Titans thank Beast Boy for showing them the wonders of garbage.
With no other option, the Titans race to the hole they entered from as lumps of garbage begin falling down. Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg, and Starfire manage to enter the hole, but a pile of trash lands in front of Robin, separating him from the others. Another pile detaches itself from the ceiling and falls toward Robin, but he is dragged away by Sticky Joe on a motorcycle. Sticky Joe throws possums to a nearby wall which creates another hole for Robin to get through. Robin tells Sticky Joe that he was wrong about him and promises to never forget him as a pile of trash crushes Sticky Joe. Robin exits the hole to Beast Boy's room just as it collapses. Beast Boy asks the Titans if they understand why he keeps his room like this and Raven, Cyborg, Starfire, and Robin thank Beast Boy for showing them that garbage isn't just garbage to be thrown away. To celebrate, Beast Boy turns on the TV to sing the Dookie in a Jar song by the Grouch.
