George Pérez (/ˈpɛrɛz/; June 9, 1954 - May 6, 2022) was a retired American comic book artist and writer, whose titles include The Avengers, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman. Writer Peter David has named Pérez his favorite artistic collaborator.

George began his career in the comic industry with Marvel's The Avengers in 1974. He would also work on many other Marvel titles such as The Fantastic Four which was his first collaboration with Marv Wolfram. Perez won multiple Eagle Awards in 1979 and 1980 for The Avengers, including Best Comicbook Cover for Avengers #185.

His work for DC Comics began in 1980 with the launch of The New Teen Titans, where would also collaborate with Marv Wolfram. This work would lead him to become one of the most popular artists in the comic book genre. Later DC projects George Perez worked on include Crisis On Infinite Earths (1985), the reboot of the Wonder Woman franchise (1987), The New Teen Titans (1988), and Adventures of Superman (1989).

The 1980's was arguably George Perez's most prolific period due to the amount of industry awards he won during that time. After taking a break from DC Comics during the 1990's, George would return to work on DC franchises such as Superman, Justice League of America, and The New Teen Titans until his retirement for health reasons in 2019.
